Berkira is a product of Ruji Labs Services (SSM registration no. CA0407027-X), a Malaysian product studio. These Terms govern your access to and use of the Berkira web application and related services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity in your workspace. Provide accurate account information and notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

2. What Berkira does (and does not do)

Berkira helps you capture, organise, and export receipts and tax-related records for Malaysian LHDN workflows. Berkira is a recordkeeping tool, not tax, accounting, or legal advice. Final eligibility, calculations, filing, and submission decisions remain entirely with you or your appointed tax advisor. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you store and the outputs you rely on.

3. Acceptable use

Use the Service lawfully and responsibly. You must not upload unlawful, misleading, fraudulent, or unauthorised documents; attempt unauthorised access to systems or other users’ data; or interfere with the Service’s operation or security.

4. Your content and data

You retain ownership of the receipts, invoices, attachments, and records you upload (“Your Content”). You grant Ruji Labs Services a limited licence to store and process Your Content solely to provide the Service to you — including storage, OCR extraction, search, and generating exports you request. You confirm you have the right to upload Your Content.

5. Plans, billing, and refunds

Berkira offers a free plan and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) through our payment provider (Curlec by Razorpay). Subscriptions grant access for the stated period; fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change plan features or pricing with reasonable prior notice; continued use after a change means you accept it.

6. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, change, or remove features, and perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability. We aim to give notice of material changes where practical.

7. Third-party services

Berkira relies on third-party providers for hosting, document processing, email, and payments. These providers operate under their own terms. Ruji Labs Services is not responsible for downtime, policy changes, or interruptions outside our reasonable control.

8. Intellectual property

The Berkira name, brand, software, and original content are owned by Ruji Labs Services and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, republish, or commercially exploit them without written permission. This does not affect your ownership of Your Content.

9. Warranties disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ruji Labs Services disclaims all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that OCR-extracted data will be complete or accurate.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ruji Labs Services is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive losses arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid to Ruji Labs Services for the Service in the preceding three (3) months, unless otherwise required by law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ruji Labs Services from claims, liabilities, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, your breach of these Terms, your violation of applicable laws or third-party rights, or any unlawful or unauthorised content you provide.

12. Force majeure

Ruji Labs Services is not liable for delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, internet or infrastructure failures, cyber incidents, and third-party platform outages.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or unlawful use. On termination you may request an export of Your Content within a reasonable period, after which it may be deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts. Before formal proceedings, both parties should attempt good-faith resolution through written notice and reasonable discussion.

15. Changes and contact

We may revise these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date reflects the latest revision, and continued use means you accept the revised Terms. For legal, privacy, or data requests, contact [email protected].
